UMI Link usage rules: who may use, prohibited links, user responsibilities, and reporting abuse.

Valid from 1 October 2026.

By using UMI Link (link.umi.ac.id), the official link shortening service of Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI) managed by the UMI Data and Information Technology Center (PDTI), you agree to the following conditions.

1. Who can use it

Creating shortlinks is only for UMI academics (lecturers, education staff, students and work units) who have accounts. Accounts are private; You are responsible for all activity on your account.

2. Prohibited use

Shortlinks may not lead to, or be used for:

  • phishing, credential theft, fraud, or malware;
  • content that violates the laws of the Republic of Indonesia;
  • content that contains hate speech or elements of SARA;
  • pornography or gambling;
  • impersonating another party, including acting on behalf of a UMI unit or official without authority;
  • shortening links from other shortening services (e.g. bit.ly) or shortlinking UMI Link itself, so that the final destination is hidden;
  • spam or unsolicited mass mailings.

3. Authorized domain and user responsibility

Shortlinks appear under the official domain link.umi.ac.id and carry UMI's good name. You are responsible for ensuring that the link destination is accurate, appropriate, and in accordance with academic or institutional interests. Creating a link does not mean that UMI approves of the content of the destination site.

4. Action by PDTI

PDTI has the authority to disable or delete links, as well as suspend accounts, without prior notification if there are suspected violations, security risks, or requests from the authorities.

5. Link code

The shortlink code (back-half) remains part of the UMI Link service, does not belong to the user, and cannot be transferred, sold, or ordered for another party. Certain codes are reserved for the system. The changed code remains recorded so that it cannot be claimed by other parties.

6. No guarantee

Services are provided as is. PDTI endeavors to keep the service available, but does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available, and is not responsible for the content of destination sites or losses resulting from use of the service.

7. Report abuse

Add a + sign at the end of the shortlink (for example link.umi.ac.id/kode+) to see the destination without being redirected. If the link is suspicious, use the "Report to PDTI" link on the preview page or send an email to jasa.pdti@umi.ac.id by including the shortlink address.

8. Privacy

Data processing is described in Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to provisions

These conditions may be updated at any time. The latest version is always available on this page; use of the service after changes means you agree to the updated terms.
